Kawasaki KLX is a name for Kawasaki adventure motorcycles series, it's off-road, dirt-bike, and dual-purpose type. Kawasaki has a variety class of family types for KLX. Typically, Kawasaki KLX-S for dual-purpose, and KLX-L for the type of off-road or dirt-bike type. Currently, Kawasaki has a variety of classes for Kawasaki KLX, both Kawasaki KLX-L and also Kawasaki KLX-S, for this year, Kawasaki KLX-L are Kawasaki KLX 140, Kawasaki KLX 140L, Kawasaki KLX 110, and Kawasaki KLX 110L, while for Kawasaki KLX-S Kawasaki has presented Kawasaki KLX250S and also KLX250SF. Actually, a few years ago, Kawasaki KLX also available for 150cc (I thing it's same with KLX 140.. hm) . If you want to buy a motorcycle that can be used on the highway, or in the cobbled streets, off-road, and bad roads, Kawasaki has provided many options for us.
Kawasaki KLX presented the right bikes to meet the needs of adventure motorcycle enthusiasts riders, as example, if you are a beginner who wants to buy a adventure motorcycle, Kawasaki KLX 110, KLX 110L, KLX 140 and KLX 150 is good options that is right for you, this is the part from KLX adventure family which only has a capacity below 150cc of engine displacement, KLX 110 to KLX 150 has a pretty friendly price, used strong engine that also powerful enough for beginner bikers.
Kawasaki KLX 110
Kawasaki KLX 110 is smallest KLX series, but don't worry about the KLX 110 performance, it's enough for beginner riders. Powered by 110cc of engine capacity, 4 stroke, SOCH, 2 valve, and 4 speed transmission, KLX 110 delivery a good power. This bike has 26.8 in. of seat height and 168 lbs. of curb weight, the prices for 2012 Kawasaki KLX 110 around $2,199 on September 2011.
Kawasaki KLX 140
This is for another option if you need more power from Kawasaki KLX, Kawasaki KLX 140 is the right off-road bike with affordable prices, and good performance, I know KLX 110 is cheaper than KLX 140, but it's all about performance, KLX 140 comes with 144cc of engine capacity, SOCH, and 2 valve. KLX 110 only has 4 speed transmission, Kawasaki KLX 140 comes with 5 speed transmission, I thing it's close ratio for better torque or like that, and looks useful for dirt area. on the rear suspension, Kawasaki KLX 140 uses UNI-TRAK® linkage system, on the brakes system, this Kawasaki bike uses single 220mm petal disc with dual piston caliper, and 186mm on the rear side with only single piston caliper. KLX 140 has 30.7 in. of seat height, and 205 lbs of curb weight, the prices around $2,949 for 2012 Kawasaki KLX140, taken September 2011.
Kawasaki KLX 250
Looks for serious dirt-bike riders who want to get the max performance from Kawasaki KLX series, Kawasaki KLX250S is little different than another KLX series such as from KLX 140 or KLX 110. Kawasaki KLX 250S is dual-purpose bike, This bike is suitable for use on the highway, but with the label 'dual-purpose' Kawasaki KLX 250S can also handled cobbled streets, sandy roads, and bad roads, in contrast to other Kawasaki KLX, KLX 250 engine uses a slightly above KLX 140 and 110. Kawasaki KLX250S using a engine with a capacity of 250cc, with DOCH, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, and also 6 speed transmission. For better performance, this bike uses liquid cooling for better engine temperature, I thing it's good and "must in" on fighter motorcycles in 250cc class. This KLX bike has 35.0 in. of seat height and 297.7 lbs. of curb weight.
