Kawasaki ER5 has been born with 498cc of engine capacity, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke Parallel Twin, DOHC, and 8 valves, this bike still using carburetor and not fuel-injection system. Kawasaki ER5 engine performance is good enough, the bike produces 50.3 PS @9,000 rpm of maximum engine power and 45 N·m (4.6 kgf·m) @7,200 rpm of maximum torque, not bad for the 500cc street-bikes right? so let see the new gen of Kawasaki ER5 below

This is the all new 2012 Kawasaki ER-6n edition, this bike has comes with sharp looks and modern style, it's totally better than ER5 edition, we can see at body-work of ER-6n, head-lamp, swing-arm, rear suspension, tail-light, revised shrouds and many more changes. The new ER5 generation (Kawasaki ER-6n) also now better engine performance and larger engine capacity, ER-6n uses 649cc of engine capacity, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, Parallel-Twin, DOCH with 8 valves, it's all almost the same with the ER5 edition but the Kawasaki ER-6n has larger engine capacity and it has equipped with fuel-injection system for more friendly fuel consumption. The power also increased, 2012 Kawasaki ER-6n has 72.1 PS @8,500 rpm of maximum power and 64 N.m @7,000 rpm of maximum torque.

While the performance of ER5 not as good as ER-6n, but ER5 has lighter of weight with 179 kg of dry weight while the 2012 ER-6n has 204 kg, so if you consider about the motorcycles curb mass, the ER5 is better weight than ER-6n, ER5 (800 mm) also has lower seat height than ER-6n (805 mm).
